" Extra Long Sneaky Lifters " another pair !!!!!!

Image
Below are  a pair of . . .  Extra Long Sneaky Lifters. An unusually long float, designed to present particle baits to finicky feeders such as crucian carp and roach in deep water but at home for any species when partical fishing. Again, these will be used on very specific northern waters. I am looking forward to seeing how these perform. I wrote this piece a week ago and I am in the final stages of making my own. No deep lake crucian carp fishing for me unfortunately. I will have to try mine out at a commercial. !!!!! I may have one or two waters up my sleeve but I haven't fished them for years . 😊 I will place a picture of mine here when finished. 😉 Until the next time . . . . . Heavy Wire Stemed Avon In Sexy Pink

Image
Here is the second addition to the  " Heavy Wire Stemed Avon " Range. It is the same weight as the original orange version but finished in sexy pink with silver thread and a jay feather inlay. This also 3 -4g (4 - 5 AAA ish ) with an alloy stem. This will be paired up with the original orange one for two friends to use in the River Ribble and the Dove. Lets hope we will be seeing both these floats in the new season next to some lovely captures. The ball is in your court gentlemen.  I've done my part. . . . . Lol Until the next time . . . . . New G.I.T.D. Tinca Stick

Image
I am starting to get into the groove for the up and coming Tench season.😉 Below is a . . . . . . . . .  " Pearlescent, Feather inlayed, Glow In The Dark ( G.I.T.D. ) Tinca Stick " Finished in black purple and silver thread. I have also pearled the black cotton on the bottom two thirds of the float, gives quite a nice effect. 😁 What do you think ????? I am lucky enough to have found two local tench waters close to me over the past year, so, hopefully I will have some nice pictures to show you all in the coming weeks. Until the next time . . . . . A Balsa For " Bald Eagle "

Image
" Bald Eagle " A.K.A. John Doran asked me for this float about 12 months ago and I have only just got around to making it.  ( Sorry John ) One of "Eagle" in his famous green suit !!!!!!!!!! LMAO It smells like his infamous "CHEESE PASTE" 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Sorry pal. Here is a better picture of the Eagle . . . . . One to keep the ladies happy . . . . . " You know it " 😂 😉😉😉😉😉 His cheese paste is magical though !!!!!!!! A 5lb 2 oz Chub from a so called " Barren" stretch of the River Irwell last week says it is !!!!!!! Top angling my friend. 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😋😊😋 He asked for a float similar to a loafer but with an insert.  He wanted it for bouncing about big pieces of meat  in very and lumps of bread, for barbel and chub in very fast, deepish runs on the River Ribble but versatile enough to put bunches of maggots and catch the silvers when present. So I made him this Big Balsa

A Star Wars Float - A bit of Fun & A Challange From " Salford Pet "

Image
Both myself and my dad ( Aka Salford Pet ) have both been  " Star Wars " fans for many years now. Ever since watching   " The Empire Strikes Back " ( The best one of the lot in my opinion ) on holiday in Cornwall in 1980 we have been avid fans and watched all the films. One morning, while we were setting up my new lathe  we were talking about the first three films and how they compare to the latter ones when my old man pipes up . . . . . . . Hay Son . . . . . Here's a challenge for you, try and make a float with a  " Star Wars theme " We both laughed and carried on with the work shop tidy up but an idea had started brewing. 😈. Later while float fiddling I said to my dad . . . .  " Were you serious about the Star Wars theme before because I have and idea  😊😊😊😊😊😊. " I was kidding but if you have an idea go with the flow and lets see what you can come up with " said my dad
