Mustard Yellow Inserted Wagglers With Vibrant Red Whippings

Image
Hi all, I was tidying up one of my many storage boxes when I came across three,  un-finished, "Mustard Inserted Wagglers" & a single "Mustard Straight Waggler" I vaguely remember preparing and painting them but for who and why god only knows....I must be getting old....lol. !!!!!!!!!!!! (See, its's not just you Graham Beddow....lol) 😆 Anyway, I decided to finished them off.  I palyed around with a few different thread colours but struggle to settle on a particular one. ( I have struggled a few times with this earthy yellow colour) I eventually settled on crimson as the main thread used in conjuction with black and gold. I was still not sure about the thread colours until I saw them varnished. Varnishing tenda to add another dimension to the colours, paints as well but I am happy I made the right choice after seeing the finished articles. Several more of the inserted versions are on the go and should be finished in two weeks time. TTFN   Peanut.   If you wo

Blue Sarkanda Inserted Wagglers In Pale Blue

Image
Hi all, Work has been keeping me busy of late but I have manage to complete the pair of floats below. As you know I just love using Sarkanda Reed as a float making material. Below is my latest pair of  " Inserted Sarkanda Wagglers " The new thread I have used is a pale blue in colour. I wasn't sure at first with regards to the new colour scheme but I have warmed to it as time passes. Threads used were Pale blue, violet, black & gold. I am going to try some more of these changing the main thread colour so stay tuned. 😁 If the new thread version looks anything like these I think I will be very happy. 😉 TTFN   Peanut.   If you would like to look at my handcrafted  click on the link below.      https://purplepeanut007.blogspot.com/2017/01/handcrafted-floats-and-fishing.html?m=1       Join our club......Its FREE  !!!!!!!  http://salfordfriendlyanglers.co.uk/join/

Two Pairs Of Straight Sarkanda Wagglers

Image
I am addicted to using Sarkanda reed. 😁 Below are two pairs of Sarkanda Straight Wagglers. These floats are made for still waters but will be happy trotting their way down a river. Threads used are turquoise, burgundy, black violet and gold. I real like the turquoise and burgundy thread colours. I can still see these floats snaring an early season tench!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Suspended bread just off the bottom would be my choice with these floats I think. Anyway, the end of fishing lock down is here. Stay safe people & be sensible TTFN   Peanut.

Straight Still Water Wagglers

Image
While I have been off work I have managed to finish a few on going projects. Here is the latest, Straight Still Water Wagglers. Two red/ pink and one orange. Once more made from reed and finished in pearlescent, metallic purple with black, gold and crimson threads, these will be at home on  natural or commercial still waters suspending larger baits like pellet, corn or bread etc I have included, in the pictures below, an olive green river waggler.  The basic difference between the still water floats and the river floats is the tip length. River floats have longer tip colours for dragging baits on the deck for when a really slow trot is require. River waggler. I need to get some fishing with one of these so I can get a few nice pictures for the blog.
