Carp Stalkers For George

Image
Morning all, I have just completed a very special quartet of carp stalkers for a certain someone. These floats are painted with crimson, sky blue and white paint with fluorescent orange tips. Black and rose gold threads finish this set. I hope this set of floats reminds you of the good times spent fishing and laughing together. All the best, Mike. Salford Pete-Commercial Bagging

Image
It was high time my dad and I had a fishing session together so after work we popped down to my local commercial carp fishery in Yorkshire. I recently purchased a new rod for  "Salford Pete" I opted for a 13ft Korum Glide, ideal for my dads style of fishing and quite robust incase if any accidental knocks. So, with his new bit if kit my old man was itching to wet a line. I helped set him up  ( Purely for speed as it was 17.00 when we arrived ) on his Bodied Antenea Waggler which I made for him which he loves for maggot fishing. I lumped in three jaffers of my special commie ground bait mix so dad could just flick maggots in over the top and catch anything that came around. Due to the short time we had (3 hrs) I decided to cocentrate on one line down the left hand side.  My attack was three Jaffers of special commie mix, half a pint of hemp plus a few grains of corn. I also had some paste mix I made up in case they were a little hesitant taking corn. Before I could wet a l...

Float & Pin On A Yorkshire Pool

Image
I have, once again been struggling to get motivated to go fishing but finally made it out last night for a spot of centerpin float fishing on a lovely scenic pool in Yorkshire. I decided to fish the lift method down the margins to see what the pool offered and  opted for one of my standard, banded porcupine quills in fluorescent yellow and white. Baits used were corn and bread....loose feeding liquidised bread and hemp. The session started off slowly.  I had a few lifts and bobs but nothing solid. A few blows around my feed built up my confidence so I introduced a little more liquidised bread and hemp. Straight after the new bait was introduced my float bobbed, then buried and I was into one of the small resident bream. A few more bream graced my net and to be honest I was just happy sitting there in the sun catching a few fish, taking in all the atmosphere of this lovely little lake when polite voice behind me bid me said  "Good evening" ......  it was the own...
