Centerpin Newbie Carp Fishing

Image
Morning all, I have been promising a work colleague Dan that I would take him fishing the last few months. Last night we were both able to finish at a similar time and head off to the lake for an dangle in the sunshine. Unfortunately, due to unforseen circumstances, Dan was unable to start the session with me but promised to meet up around 20.00 at the lake. To save time I told Dan he could use my setup when he arrive to save some time. I had a quite couple of hours to be honest with just three carp and some silvers and was looking forward to talking Dan through the simplist form of pin fishing, (To me anyway) which is fishing down the side on bigger baits. Dan has been around a bit the last few years. The last fish he caught was in Cambodia which was a .........He stole the show on that day catching the biggest fish so I new he had some fishing experiance just not on the pin. Dan eventually rocked up at the venue with a smile on his face and eager to fish. We could not have asked...

Glow In The Dark Antennae Bodied Wagglers.

Image
Afternoon all,  I have just been puttting the finishing touches on another pair of "Antennae Bodied Wagglers" This set are aimed at catching Tench and Crucians at a close to medium distance. I have recently been using these floats for paste and conventional maggot/worm fishing down the side and I must say they have performed very well so far,. The colour graduations on the float helping a great deal with bite detection.  Another pair have made without eyes so they may be attached via a rubber band or a silicone adaptor. Read the tench blog here. https://purplepeanut007.blogspot.com/2025/05/smash-and-grab-morning-tench-raid.html A coat of glow in the dark yellow was added to enable fishing past sunset. Until the next time………. Peanut. Stepped Boddied Wagglers In Pearlescent Burgundy

Image
Hi all, Sorry these are late Andy.  I had a small issue with the sun, heat and an idiot leaving them in a plastic bag in the car  (me) 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 The paints film had reconstituted, softened, therefore stuck to one another in the plastic bag. Pulling them apart resulted in the paint being ripped off at various locations. (should of got a picture of that but was more interested in getting them back to normal) With a little tinkering I was able to bring them back to their former glory. Two for Andy, two for me. Andys are the ones with a red band on the base stem. Materials were brass, walnut and balsa. Paints used were pearlescent burgundy, cream, fluorescent red, orange and  glow in the dark yellow. Threads used were black, scarlet and burgundy. Andy will be using his at his new local club lake. I will be using mine here for tench & bream and general coarse species in the deeper parts of this small lake. Good for a first attempt but a few little improvements w...
