Sliding Perch Bobber With A Feather Inlay.

Image
Hi all. I do not make perch bobbers as often as I would like, especially the sliding veriety. Well, today is the exception !!!! Below is what is left of a pair of.... Sliding, Feather Inlay, Perch Bobbers in blue with black and gold whippings plus a fluoro red/pink tip. The other float without the inlay will be kept as a user as I had an accident lacquering it !!!!  (It happens to us all) 🙄 A week later I have actually managed to save the float mentioned but, alas, the inlay had to be removed but I am still happy with the finished product nevertheless. 😁 The stem is hollow to enable the float to be used as in internal sliding float. I have added spiral whipping which is something I don't often do, it just seemed the right thing to do at the time so I went with it.  The feather was a no brainer and had to be a Jay feather, all the colour combinations demanded it !!!! 😊 There we have it... Lets hope I actually get out to fish some time soon !!!!! TTFN      Peanut. Please subscrib

Manchester Perch Hunt Part 2

Image
A long awaited trip saw me trundle off down the M62 motorway to meet Neil Johnson for a perch hunt we organised a quite a while ago. I got up late so the traffic was terrible on the motorway but I arrived . . . . eventually . . . .at Neils perch pool.  I had not seen Neil for over 12 months so we said are hellos and quickly caught up with things . . . .he makes a lovely cuppa which we had two of while we swapped a few fishy tales while setting up our kit. Not to mention a bacon buttie !!!!!!!! They like to take care of themselves these specimen boys don't they lol  ! ! ! ! ! 🥓🥓🥓🍽🍽🍽 We were live baiting for perch today using my larger perch bobers. I was named as  " Head bit basher " and was in charge of catching the live bait we were to be using for this session while Neil chucked a few lures about. My bait tray consisted of pinkies and a little ground bait. Just what you would expect to catch some small silvers on. I resisted the temptation to u

Ivory Baby Bobbers

Image
With my latest quartet of  " Baby Bobbers " I have tried to tone these down a little and make them a little more traditional.  I started well keeping to my ivory colour combination but fell down at the base stem whipping stage and just had to add a little bling . . . . . Lol. The silver metallic thread is slightly more subtle than my standard gold thread and really goes with this set.  Finished in ivory, black, silver, violet and various fluorescent clour tips.😁 The bobbers take approximately 3AAA and can be used for perch, grayling and jack pike using maggots, casters, small worms and live fry etc. I am very happy with the way these have turned out even if I went off plan slightly . Lol. 🤣 Until the next time. TTFN Peanut.
