Pb Smashed - Creature Reacher Well & Truely Christand

Image
The Summer Solstice Thursday 21st June, the hottest day ever recorded in Great Britain, 38°C and I had chosen this day to meet up with the ..... “ Casterman and seriously try for a big River Irwell Bream on . . . .” “ The Creature Reacher “ I wasn't that confidant let me tell you !!!!!!!!!!! We had arranged to meet at the pegs as Casterman  finished work earlier than I. He was bringing one of his pals along, “ Pete The Fireman “ who had never fished the Lower Irwell before and was also looking forward, hopefully, to a nice, big, lump. The two friends where already fishing when I rocked up. “ How do Derek, you had out yet pal “ “ Noooor maaate. I haven't been in long Mike “ came the deep Lancastrian reply. I was set up and fishing within fifteen minutes. Creature Reacher, pin & a heavy, alloy stemed, inserted stick float were the tools for my first plan of attack. Four small balls of feed and a constant trickle of hemp. I have 6lb Drennan Floa

Alloy Stemed Oval Avon With A Feather Inlay

Image
I have been meaning to make this pattern for a while as a number of friends have asked for one. This and the perch bobber are the most attractive looking floats in in my opinion. I don't know why I like them them the most, I just do. This is a maggot, caster and bread punch float for roach on running water. Sporting a metallic, pearlescent blue body with black, purple and gold whippings. It has a jay feather inlay and an alloy stem to give the float increased balance and stability. Weight capacity is approximately 3 AAA I can see this running down the Lower Irwell in the next week or two !!!!! 😉 I have made a similar version before but with a cane stem. It worked very well but I know the alloy stemmed version above will perform much better for me on the rivers I fish. Here is the first version. A good first attempt at the pattern but the new alloy stemmed version is more pleasing to the eye and will perform better in my opinion. Wh

Straight Wagglers Ready For The New River Season. 😊

Image
I haven't made my straight wagglers for quite some time now. Below are a prial in pink with black, purple and gold whipping, plus a jay feather inlay. All floats are 5AAA weight capacjty These are great on a rivers for slowing the bait down at distance by fishing over depth. Ideal for maggots, casters, bread, pellet etc. 😊 On still waters / commercials they are great for distance fishing up in the water on pellet, bread corn as well as the above baits These replace the pellet waggler when little more finesse is required. Also great for people with bad eyes like me . . .  Lol. 😁 I will be using one of these on the River Irwell come June 16th looking for the beam and carp. These have eluded me over the last few years although I did manage one a few years ago at a Salford Friendly Anglers meet organised by the Caster Man. It is still my PB bream at 6lb 11oz Caught on a Retro Stick float Black as coal. An absolutely STUNNIN
