Purplepeanut007 PP007 FLOAT MAKING & FISHING ADVENTURES - THE RIVER IRWELL AND BEYOND.

 Hi all, Below are two floats I have had on the go for a while. Both floats are turned from balsa fitted with a ferruled hard wood stem. The larger float is for deeper water and the shorter float is for faster, shallower runs. Finished with a grey painted body, fluorescent orange tip, with black and slate whippings. I have made these for pin fishing hopefully on the Yorkshire Derwent this winter using bread as bait. I hope you like them.  Hi everyone, Today I have just finished another  "Irwell Stick Float" Finished in grey and white paint, black thread and a fluorescent red/ pink tip. This is very simple, timeless, traditional style that is really starting to appeal to me. Made with a straight, walnut stem this is lighter & thinner than the previous Flared Hardwood Stemmed Floats I made a few weeks ago. Another one to try on the Irwell, Ribble and may be other rivers come the 16th....... Starting to get excited !!!!!
