Image
Happy New Year All. This quartet are my last floats of 2023. Inserted 50:50 Small Camo Green Wagglers + Heavy Hardwood Stem Irwell Sticks. The wagglers will mainly be used for tench at close quarters, the sticks for bigger baits on faster, shallow river stretches. Wagglers are Sarkanda and the sticks are balsa, all with hardwood stems. I have looked at the river many times overr the  Christmas period without finding a decent period to fish. Lets hope the new year is a little more clement. Tight lines and Happy New Year. Red bodied Lollipop Lifters

Image
Hi all, I have made some more of these today with shorter stems and red bodies. I used shorter stems on these for fishing in the shallows tight to the pads. I hope you like them. Again all floats made to fit 3mm float adaptors. First Fishing Trip For My Son In Law

Image
Hi All, To my suprise my son in law, Craig has shown a little interest in fishing and asked me if I would take hime for a session !!!!! I didn't need asking twice !!!!!! 👊💥  As he has never been fishing before I suggested some where local and shelterd for his first time on a lake. The velue I had in mind would also be a good place for my dad to as the venue was flat with easy access. I had made a few riggs the night before an prepared all the bait. It was a new venue but with a little inside information from  " The Casterman " I was confident between meyself and my dad we would help Craig catch a few fish.......little did I know it would be a very memorable session with Craig hooked for life. After explaining the importance of setting the depth correctly and bait presentaion Craig was off fishing, while I nursed a hangover from the Coach & Horses the night before... 🙄🙄🙄🙄😔 With in minuets Craig had his first fish, a nice roach, he was buzzing.... " Wooow..

Quill & Pin.....An Evening Tench Session

Image
Hi all, I' ve been getting out a bit for a change!!!! Working in Yorkshire I have been exploring a few local ponds and lakes. I do like a nice early season tench so armed with a Youngs B.J. Pin and a custom made Harrison SU Waggler Rod from Andew Boyne I had a couple of hours on a local lake. It was a slow start tonight, surprising as the weather as much warmer then the prevous session. Bream were the first to show. I had seven or eight of these before a small mirror put a bend in my rod.  After an hour I had a big lift bite off a small tench which is what I was after. Not the biggest but put a nice bend in the rod. A short time afterwards another, even smaller one graced my landing net. I had a few more larger carp and bream,  called it a day when I couldn't see my float. All in all a good night with plenty of bites and fish. PS: I dont usually like comecials but this one is very nice. TTFN   Peanut.   If you would like to look at my handcrafted floats click on the link below
