Image
Merry Christmas everyone, ☃️🎅☃️🎅☃️🎅 I have started making tench and bream floats earlier than I usually do. This set of four come in at around 5AAA dressed with green/grey bodies and a black and white segmented stem section to see this all important lift bites. Threads used are black and gold, all finished with a flourescrnt orange sight tips. These are the larges of this style of float I have made at the moment but I do have plans to make some larger ones in the near future. 5AAA Antennae Wagglers in Charcoal & Slate Grey

Image
Morning all, I fancied making some more "5AAA Antennae Wagglers" as they are my go to float on slow running rivers fishing for roach and bream down the middle wind permitting. I have  just finished four in charcoal & slate grey with black and rose gold whippings. Just as they were complete I recieved a phone call from "The Caster Man" "Alrite mate. Av ya got any of these in semi-loaded roach floats?  "I lost mine in a tree last year". 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄😆 If I had known I could have made these semi-loaded for him. Guess I will be busy making some semi-loaded ones in the near future!!!! I don"t do enough of this type of fishing anymore, infact the last time I did was with Caster Man and t was an enjoyable day to.  https://purplepeanut007.blogspot.com/2022/10/a-silver-doller-race-peanut-vs-casterman.html I had around 20lb on that day if memory serves me right Derek? No monster but some quality roach and the odd chub.I could catch roach like that all d...

Red bodied Lollipop Lifters

Image
Hi all, I have made some more of these today with shorter stems and red bodies. I used shorter stems on these for fishing in the shallows tight to the pads. I hope you like them. Again all floats made to fit 3mm float adaptors. Tench Float - Lollipop Lifter

Image
I found myself staring at a slimline bodied waggler blank I had made over the Christmas period. My memory cast back to when myself and John Derbyshire fished a quiet northern tench lake a few years ago. We used tinca sticks on that occasion but I thought, as the lake was a rather deep one, a bodied waggler would be a nice tool to use next season if we visit. It is quite close quarters fishing on the lake so a sightbob waggler was a little overkill in my opinion so I chose to make something a little different. I have christened it a  " Lollipop  Lifter " as  " Salford Pete said it looked a bit like an ice lolly.....LOL 🤣 Finished with burgundy paint and multiple fluorescent colours, plus gold, black and purple threads. It takes approximately 6 AAA so the bait can get through the greedy perch shoals in the lake...... Anyway....here it its " The Lollipop Lifter " The last float of 2018. 😁 I think I will fish this as a s...
