River Yarrow Part 2 - Silver City. Roving With The Ginger Assasin.

Both myself and the Ginger One have been longing to go back to the . . . . . . Little River Yarrow in Bolton to continue our  . . . " Search For Silvers ". The last time we fished it we hammered the trout but only caught one silver between us which was a little disappointing.  We were a little low on bait so we called into "Adlington Angling Centre "  to stock up on some bits. John is a regular at the shop and introduced me to the owner, Andrew Gibbs. A nice guy with a top shop. Andrew sorted us out with our bits and bait. We had a chat about the days horse racing then we hit the road.  John has located a nice stretch of the River Yarrow to fish as the river is in his back yard and directed me to a stretch where he had walked but never fished. We tackle up, while chatting, donned our waders and clumped up the path to the first of Johns secret sections . . . . . . “ I’ve seen chub here Peanut . . . . . . loads of them “  said the Assas

I had a tiny window on Sunday evening for a few hours fishing so I asked my dad if he would like a few hours trottng on the a local river  . . . . With a . . . . . “ Yes I think I will Son “ 😊  as his answer I phone my mate John Deryshire to see if he fancied it to.  John doesn’t need much persuading and of course agreed to come along. I was having dinner at my mum and dads that evening and in the end was running an hour late. We ended up getting to the river about 18.00 which only gave us a two hour session. John text me before I left asking us where we were. I told him we were both running late so he should start without us. As we pulled up the heavens opened up. "  Not the best start to the session " my old man said. " Better than being stuck in the house though . . . . . and we both agreed on that.  We walked past John on our way to our peg. John had had a nightmare start and left some gear at home and had to go back for it so he was just setting up

Both John and I finally got round to our River Yarrow trip. We have both been looking forward to this for a long time as next to nothing is known  ( by us ) about this little river. We were hoping for chub roach and dace but any fish from a new river would be most welcome. We tackled up next to the van as it would be easier to do so. Once ready we walked over to the field which the river flowed though. As we approached the river John stopped dead in his tracks . . . . . “ Is that Hogweed Mike “ ? “ Unfortunately yes it is mate “ I replied. Hogweed is a horrible invasive species which gives u a very nasty burn . If it gets into your eyes it can actually blind you . . . . . Horrid stuff ! ! ! ! Hogweed Hogweed Burns Click the link for more information on Hogweed http://www.telegraph.co.uk/gardening/problem-solving/giant-hogweed-everything-you-need-to-know/ A little down hearted we fought through the Japanese Knot weed down to a VERY small wild river.
