Irwell Sticks in Hunter Green with a Feather Inlay.

 I promissed Dion I would make him a quartet of ......

Hunter Green Irwell Sticks......

Slightly different sizes as requested, two with feather inlays and two signed with his name on.

The four stick floats are made with balsa, an alloy stem, black/ gold whippings, red/pink fluorescent tips and a game feather.







Sorry I couldn't get them to you before the end of the season pal but at least you have something to look forward to at the begining of the new season.

Dion will be using these mainly on the Bollin but also the middle Mersey.

I personally love using these when wadding fishing the just off the rod tip for maximum control.

Designed for shallow fishing on faster runs these floats should serve him well next season and I am fully expecting some fish and float caputures of him in June.

The pressure is on Dion.....LOL

Lathe Made Pike Bobber - First Effort. . . .😊

This is the first float to come off my new mini lathe. Its an old style " Pike Bobber Float " for live and dead baiting. It is a steep learning curve but, at last, I feel I have something to show all of you. 😊 Cork bodied (turned by myself ) with a birch stem. Jay feather inlay with two  satelliting jungle cock feathers. Fluorescent pink paint and a brass eye. This is how it looked fresh off the lathe . . . . As I said its a steep learning curve for me: 1) Using a lathe.  2) Working with cork. Both had their challenges but a feel I have come out of the other side with a pretty good effort. With a little more practise I feel I can get this pattern looking a much better. This is how it looks now. What do you think ? 😊 Any constructive criticism is always welcome. River Irwell PB On A New Mini- Alloy Stem Avon

 Hi all, I had a short session to test some Mini-Alloy Stem Avons out this morning and ... BOY.......AM I GLAD I DID !!!!!! I hoped down to the SFAs stretch of the Irwell to hopfully grab some grayling pictures with my new trotters. It was a smash and grab raid as I was taking out  T.O.W.M.B.O. (THE ONE WHO MUST BE OBAYED) out for an early Valentines Dinner. (So Im frantically witting this blog as Dudds has put me under some considerable pressure to get it to you tonight) 😆 I got up late to throw a spanner in the works as well. I managed a few coats of paint on some other floats I am currently making then it was off to the river. I had a few grayling within the first ten minutes so my pictures were in the bag early doors. 😁 I checked my pictures and concluded they where what I was after and therefore could now relax for the next hour, enjoying the peace of being out in the fresh air as the new avon meandered along then bobed under  "Hmm another lady I thought"...... the the
