Ultimate Ledger Floats - Sight Bob Wagglers.

Image
Hi All, I don't really re-vamp floats but a request to build some wagglers from some ledger float fittings took my fancy. Three different sized floats were created ........ Yellow stems and half and orange, half yellow sight bobs were requested with the rest of the decore left to me. I opted for a Hunter Green Body, (It's my thing at the momement) with black & yellow threads. The floats were not made to be identical but very similar in decor. I must admit I have never used floats like these before so I'm looking forward to some performance reports once completed. First Fishing Trip For My Son In Law

Image
Hi All, To my suprise my son in law, Craig has shown a little interest in fishing and asked me if I would take hime for a session !!!!! I didn't need asking twice !!!!!! 👊💥  As he has never been fishing before I suggested some where local and shelterd for his first time on a lake. The velue I had in mind would also be a good place for my dad to as the venue was flat with easy access. I had made a few riggs the night before an prepared all the bait. It was a new venue but with a little inside information from  " The Casterman " I was confident between meyself and my dad we would help Craig catch a few fish.......little did I know it would be a very memorable session with Craig hooked for life. After explaining the importance of setting the depth correctly and bait presentaion Craig was off fishing, while I nursed a hangover from the Coach & Horses the night before... 🙄🙄🙄🙄😔 With in minuets Craig had his first fish, a nice roach, he was buzzing.... " Wooow..

Yellow, Large, Thick Tipped, Teardrop Avons

Image
Hi All, I was asked to make a some floats for barbel and chub fishing in faster runs on the River Ribble.  The preference was Avons and Sticks. Below are the first set of floats requested. Three "Large, Thick Tipped, Teardrop Avons" Added the pound coin for scale purposes. This is a pattern I have never used on the ribble myself. I always tend to lean to the heavey stick for these situations, however, these three will be ideal trottting the fast, more oxygenated water we have at the moment due to the lack of water. All three have black and gold whippings with a pastle yellow shoulder finishing with white and fluorescent orange tips. The Avons are made with balsa bodies and hard wood stems. All three floats take approximately 6.4g or 4 swan in old money. 😊 I must admit I did make an extra one to give it a go on the Ribble myself when I get a chance. PS: These will finished with a personal inscription today. 😊 TTFN   Peanut.   If you would like to look at my handcrafted floa

Hunter Green Bodied Antennae Wagglers 5AAA

Image
Hi all,  Continuing on the bodied waggler theme, below are some...... "Hunter Green Bodied Antennae Wagglers" These are much larger than the prevous pair coming in at 5AAA . p Finished with black and yellow whipping these six floats are finished in flouresent orang an black to cover most light conditions. I have used these floats fishing on the Manchester Ship canal using an ABU 704 and an Acolyte Plus, very sensitive and visable at five rod lengths out when fishing for roach........ but thats another story. 😉 I had a few more carp and silvers after work in Pocklington using the 5BB version. 5AAA vs 5BB version I have also been using asmall Irwell Stick as a dibber for down the side fishing, a very vesitle float.
