Stepped Stick Floats For Maggot & Caster Fishing

Image
As you all know  I LOVE  ❤ my stick float fishing, especially on the pin so I have made a few more for silver fishing up to approximately seven foot deep. One in metallic , pearlescent blue &  one in metallic green. Both of these have jay feather inlays plus black, gold and scarlet whippings. I have not used these to yet but have caught a few nice chub on the prototype last month. 😉 The chub where caught on the  River Severn,  Hampton Loade. Stick and pin. I have a river in mined where I want to try these out, those in the inner circle will know exactly where I will be roach fishing with these beauties...lol. Two Tone Straight Wagglers

Image
I treated a friend to a new float. He wanted a straight waggler so I knocked up a standard one....then.....thought....... hold on, I can do better than that so I made him a  " Two Tone Straight Waggler " I like these a lot, they are a little blingie just like the inserted versions but we both liked the out come. I will also be making these will a longer fluorescent tip for river fishing. Enjoy my friend. New Porcupine Quills

Image
I have not made any porcupine quills for some time now so when I was asked to make one for my club chairman I decided to make a few extra. Two are Glow In The Dark Yellow and one is day glow red/pink. These will be used for close range general fishing or down side for carp and tench. Something timeless about porcupine quills that brigngs back your childhood memories so.... I have hot half a dozon on the go now....lmao TTFN   Peanut.   If you would like to look at my handcrafted  click on the link below.      https://purplepeanut007.blogspot.com/2017/01/handcrafted-floats-and-fishing.html?m=1        Join our club......Its FREE  !!!!!!!  http://salfordfriendlyanglers.co.uk/join/

Traditional Float Tube No 8

Image
Well, I turned another traditional float tube. Tube No8. Just a repeat of No 7 really apart from a change of feather. On this tube I have use  Cock Pheasant Feathers instead of the guinea foul feathers. Both sets of feathers have their merits but I have found that the pheasant feathers are easier to apply  ( One to remember ) and look even more traditional in their colours. The tubes approximate measurements are as follows : EXTERNAL = 290 mm by 60 mm INTERNAL  = 240mm by 40 mm  Here are tubes 7 and 8 together so you can see the difference.  😉 TTFN   Peanut.

Traditional Float Tube

Image
As you all know I like bright colours and a bit of bling on the tackle I make. On this occasion I decided to turn it down a few notches and go more traditional !!!! This float tube has been stained, bringing out the grain to achieve an older, more traditional look. The threads used were black and gold coupled with a pair of Gunnie Foul feathers for added decoration. (only a little amount of bling....lol) This is the first tube I have stained and I am quite please with the results 😁 The tubes measurements are as follows : EXTERNAL = 290 mm by 60 mm INTERNAL  = 240mm by 40 mm I have a slightly different tube nearing completion and will write a quick blog when complete. Two Tone Wagglers In Purple & Red Metallics

Image
I have just completed a double pair of InstertedSarkanda Wagglers  for a friend, " Reece Davidson " Hopefully we should both be trying them out on the  " Old River Irlam " in the near future. We will both be after tench but to tell you all the truth I wouldn't mind a big eel or two as well.  I have not caught a large eel for a very long time and there are one or two reports of them coming out of the " Old River " so fingers crossed I will get a chance of a couple of sessions this summer.
