 Hi all, Some more original style Avons, this time in charcoal grey. These have Fluorescent pink/ red tips, with black and violet threads. A hard wood stem completes this float. .................. Hi all, Below are a pair of  "Painted & Stained Avons" These are the same build as the previous balsa avons (4AAA + ) but this pair exhibit a greater amount of un-painted balsa on the body compared to the previous, fully painted versions. Paints used were pastle yellow, white and fluorescent orange. Threads used were black and yellow. I tried to make these look traditional but I do like my fluorescent tips. Four more of these are half finished and should be completed over the Christmas period. I would also like to make these out of cork and have an order of cork coming, let's see if it arrives before christmas so I can get craking on the turner. Hi all, I decided to go right back to basics with this set of floats. Believe it or not the avon is a float I hardly ever use, leaning towards stick float fishing instead. Below are several different colours of my  "Hardwood Stemmed Avon Floats" There is always something attractive about simplicity if you can get it right and hopefully, with this batch I have done just that. I have made the first four of these floats in different colours as I have not settled for a standard colour yet but I am leaning towards both the light grey and  mustard. All the floats below have dark, harwood stems, orange fluorescent tips, black whippings and a painted, coloured body.  Hi all, My usual Sight Bob Wagglers are a medium to large in size.  The set below set are much smaller taking just under 3 BB for close quarters  work. I have made two versions in the same size, metallic blue and solid grey with various tip colours, threads used were black, gold, violet & red. I'm looking forward to using these on a couple of tench waters I have been meaning to fish for years but just never found the time. I'm am hoping to take my dad along as it has been years since we have been tench fishing together. I have included a picture next to a Large Sight Bob Waggler to give you some idea of the size difference. Hi all, With a some time on my hands I have tried something a little different. The four balsa wagglers you see below. 😁 These are quiet wide at 8 mm.The shorter tipped two are for pellet fishing on commercials and club lakes. The two with longer tips are for rivers using bigger baits like bread, paste, worm etc As ever I have tried to go old school with a modern twist. To be honest I just made the bodies, stained and painted all four, then free styled with a few ideas until I settled with the two designs you see before you.  With the warm weather I am missing my fishing, as I am sure all of you are. I want some nice chub pictures next to these beauties so the quicker we are off lock down the sooner we can all get fishing.
