Jazzed Up Black Tinca Stick

Image
Black tipped floats are a must for any float fisherman but, to me,  they always seem a little pain in appearance so I have tried to jazz a  " Tinca Stick "  up and give it a little bit of something extra that changes its look and makes it more appealing to the eye. I have also used a new feather together with a complimenting metallic blue thread. This particular feather is difficult to match up with my current tip colours but I think I have managed to team it up well on this particular float. What do you think ? Until the next time . . . . . New G.I.T.D. Tinca Stick

Image
I am starting to get into the groove for the up and coming Tench season.😉 Below is a . . . . . . . . .  " Pearlescent, Feather inlayed, Glow In The Dark ( G.I.T.D. ) Tinca Stick " Finished in black purple and silver thread. I have also pearled the black cotton on the bottom two thirds of the float, gives quite a nice effect. 😁 What do you think ????? I am lucky enough to have found two local tench waters close to me over the past year, so, hopefully I will have some nice pictures to show you all in the coming weeks. Until the next time . . . . . Deep Water Tinca Sticks - A new one to me !!!!!!!!!

Image
Originally... " Tinca Sticks " were designed for shallow water, close quater tenching.  I have made a few " one offs " over the last two years , sightly different " Specials " for certain people. Below are some . . . . . .  " Extra Large Tinca Sticks " Regarding the two " Extra Large "  floats on the right, I have changed the stem material to ensure strength and longevity. These will be paired up with a set of " Extra Large Sneaky Lifters " Made for a certain deep water in the north west of England containing a good head of Crucian Carp & Tench. I hope you will post a report of your first sessions with these floats as I have not tested these myself.  You know who you are Mr X......... !!!!!!! 😉😉😉😉😉. Until the next time . . .  TTFN . . . . JAYSS and Tinca Sticks - Love at first Bite !!!!!!!!!!

Image
I have met lots of friendly blokes and good fishermen at Salford Friendly Anglers meetings in the past. One of these fine anglers being John or JAYS as he is known on facebook. On Tuesday I received a message from John asking if I had finished a batch of floats.  I have been making for him. " The Tinca Sticks and Irwell Sticks are done pal but the pike and perch floats still need sorting “  I replied. “ GREAT . I am desperate for the Tinca Sticks as my tench season is well underway. Can we meet up soon “ ? John lives in Stockport, I live in Whitefield so we arranged to meet about half way in Chadderton at a pub called The Boat & Horses right on the Rochdale Canal , an SFA stretch.  I landed at the allotted time,16.15, and text John of my arrival. I was rummaging around in my boot looking for some floats when I heard a voice I have not heard for well over two months  “ Hellow Mike “........ It was John. I hadn’t seen him in ages. We said our hellows a

2015 Rod Race - Tench and Crucian Points.

Hi all, First of all let me apologise for the lack of posts. I have been extremely busy with work and family life so fishing and the blog have taken a step backwards....unfortunately. I currently have a bee in my bonette regarding a small mill pond run by my local club. I grew up fishing here and even though a 16 meter pole will no doubt reach the other side I still love the place.  Below is the little track leading to the lodge. This is the little gem I like to play in. My Okuma centerpin and my new Tinca Stick floats where my chosen weapons of the day and I was hoping to catch a tench or , if very lucky,  a Crucian Carp. Crucians are becoming quite rare due to hybridisation with Brown Gold Fish and other ornimentals so to have crucians on my door step is a real bonous. My Tinca Sticks My session went off without a hitch fishing the pin 2 rodlenths out. I was fishing maggot out straight infront of me and corn down the side near the lilly bed
