Small Inserted Wagglers

Image
Morning all, Insert Wagglers must be the bread and butter float for a lot of anglers because of its versitility. Below are six I have just completed. All these floats take approximately  4 - 5 BB 0.8 - 1.0 g. I use mine for carp and tench in the margins early in the season. TTFN.      Peanut. Part II "Shouldered & Flared 4g Stcks For Long Trotting"

Image
Hi all, I kindly received an update on this set of floats just over a week after their completion. As stated on the previous post https://purplepeanut007.blogspot.com/2023/10/sholdered-flared-4g-stcks-for-long.html "I was recently asked to make a set of 20 no 4 (4g) Shouldered Alloy Stick Floats for a trip on the River Itchen in the coming weeks. The floats are to be used for long trotting fishing six feet plus on some runs. Because of the distance these floats will be fished at I have kept the tips as wide as I possible could, flaring the taper out just before the shoulder, initially giving a wider tip before turning the shoulder/tip". These floats were made for grayling long trotting in swims from 4 to eight feet deep, The results speak for themselves . . . . . Pictures from the first session.   TTFN      Peanut. Perch Bobbers - Old School & Sliding

Image
Morning all, I have gone a little out of my comfort zone with this pair of....... "Perch Bobbers - Old School & Sliding" New paint and a new pattern were the order of the day for these two builds. This old school float is made of hard wood and balsa with black and gold threads. The slider is aso balsa with a hollow tube fitted down the center of the float to enable it to slide up an down to use a greater depth. I think I will run out of time this season for a river perch but we always have the still waters to play with !!!!! When my old man saw these two floats he said " I remember that float pattern.  I used to fish on Soapy Toms near Fredrick Road Canal in Salford and catch perch as a kid, I was about 10, that would be in the early fiftys and a perch bobber was the first float I bought you to". What a great little story !!! TTFN.      Peanut. Please subscribe if you would like regular updates of my adventures with the floats I make.  If you would lik...
