Traditional Float Tube No 8

Image
Well, I turned another traditional float tube. Tube No8. Just a repeat of No 7 really apart from a change of feather. On this tube I have use  Cock Pheasant Feathers instead of the guinea foul feathers. Both sets of feathers have their merits but I have found that the pheasant feathers are easier to apply  ( One to remember ) and look even more traditional in their colours. The tubes approximate measurements are as follows : EXTERNAL = 290 mm by 60 mm INTERNAL  = 240mm by 40 mm  Here are tubes 7 and 8 together so you can see the difference.  😉 TTFN   Peanut.   If you would like to look at my handcrafted  click on the link below.      https://purplepeanut007.blogspot.com/2017/01/handcrafted-floats-and-fishing.html?m=1        Join our club......Its FREE  !!!!!!!  http://salfordfriendlyanglers.co.uk/join/    ...

Traditional Float Tube

Image
As you all know I like bright colours and a bit of bling on the tackle I make. On this occasion I decided to turn it down a few notches and go more traditional !!!! This float tube has been stained, bringing out the grain to achieve an older, more traditional look. The threads used were black and gold coupled with a pair of Gunnie Foul feathers for added decoration. (only a little amount of bling....lol) This is the first tube I have stained and I am quite please with the results 😁 The tubes measurements are as follows : EXTERNAL = 290 mm by 60 mm INTERNAL  = 240mm by 40 mm I have a slightly different tube nearing completion and will write a quick blog when complete. Two Tone Wagglers In Purple & Red Metallics

Image
I have just completed a double pair of InstertedSarkanda Wagglers  for a friend, " Reece Davidson " Hopefully we should both be trying them out on the  " Old River Irlam " in the near future. We will both be after tench but to tell you all the truth I wouldn't mind a big eel or two as well.  I have not caught a large eel for a very long time and there are one or two reports of them coming out of the " Old River " so fingers crossed I will get a chance of a couple of sessions this summer.
