New Carp Stalkers In Fluoro Purple & Glow In The Dark Yellow With New Threads

Image
I have finally managed to make a  day glow fluorescent purple paint.  It is not a deep blue purple but it is as good as I can create with the raw materials available. I have only made a couple of patterns, both straight wagglers in this colour.  One is the new  Carp Stalker pattern below. The yellow float is a " Glow In The Dark " Version.  For the Glow In The Dark vesion I have used a couple of different thread colours, turquoise and plum tippets as well as the more standard black, gold, and a violet tag on the stem.  For the purple float I have used the new turquoise and black tippets. I am not too good and off work at the moment so the Mrs has grounded me.....LOL When I am fit and ready I will be fishing down the side on some local lakes, hopefully some fish and float pctures will be forth coming a possibley a small blog will follow. 😁 May even drag Salford Pete along to catch a pb or two. 😉 TTFN Peanut. Another addition to my  " Carp Stalkers " is a Glow In The Dark version. I have made the first one in the original thread colours, black, metallic gold and two shades of violet. I am currently making some more that will be finished in a few different thread colours in the near future.  😊 TTFN Peanut. New Ivory Bodied Antenna Wagglers.

Image
Recently I have taken a liking to using ivory paint on some of my more recent float patterns. Another pattern I have been meaning to make in this colour is the  Bodied Antenna Waggler. A very useful float for fishing smaller baits like maggots and casters both on and off the bottom. Best suited for tench, bream, roach and skimmers.   This pair take approximately 4AAA and are finished in ivory, whippings are black, gold and two different shades of violet. 😁 TTFN Peanut. Sarkanda Reed Wagglers - A Set Of Five.

Image
As I have mentioned before I enjoyed working with " Sarkanda Reed " The first two I made were straight, loaded wagglers over 12 inches long for specialised deep water fishing at distance. http://purplepeanut007.blogspot.co.uk/2018/04/sarkandas-loaded-waggler-reed-waggler.html?m=1 The third float was at the other end of the scale. A short Carp Stalking Float. http://purplepeanut007.blogspot.co.uk/2018/04/margin-carp-stalker-sarkandas-waggler.html?m=1  This set of five  "  Straight Sarkanda Wagglers "  are somewhere in the middle in regards to size, unloaded this time and made for more general fishing. Consisting of three floats in day glow fluorescent, one in black and one in  glow in the dark yellow. The threads used where black, metallic gold and two shades of violet. I will be using mine on the Rivers Irwell & Ribble when the season opens. TTFN Peanut. If you would like to look at my handcrafted floats

Margin Carp Stalker - Sarkanda Waggler

Image
Another float I have been meaning to make for quite some time is a " Margin Carp Stalker " Float. This one is my first and is  approximately 13 cm or 5 " in length. The threads used where black, metallic gold and two shades of violet plus a small brass eye. I have included my Trudex Centerpin to give the picture some scale. I have a very modest carp pb at approximately 11 lbs caught thirty five years ago ( I don't do much still water fishing )  so I am looking forward to catching a few still water lumps with one of these little fellas. 😁 Its great for dropping down the side in the shallows for carp and tench and I can see a few more being made in the near future. 😁   I have been also been persuaded by a few friends to fish a few commercial matches in the closed season. I don't think I will blow the cobwebs off the pole just yet hence the reason for making this stalking float to be used for 2 " Down The Side

Wagglers In Thiland With A VIP

Image
Ste recently took a set of my Feather Inlay Inserted Wagglers on a trip to Thailand. Little did I know they would be inspected by none other than the fishing legend himself " John Wilson " Pictures taken at Johns fishing mecca in Thailand. http://www.fishthailand.co.uk/john_wilson_fishing_lake_thailand.html I asked Ste if there was any recommendations he had to improve my waggler pattern. I wasn't expecting  them to be inspected by,  in my eyes. . a living legend   !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 😲😲😲😲😲😲😲😲😲😲 In the last picture John is pointing to the eye at the base of the float which is quite small as it is for general coarse fishing. For Johns style of fishing which is the lift method near lilies and snags he recommended that the eyes diameter be increased in size to allow it to run free up and down the main line and to avoid it getting jammed with weed. Definitely something to think about for a specialist type of waggler. 😊 Than
