Dads & Lads Small Antennae Wagglers

Image
Hi all, My Old Man AKA  "Salford Pete" has recently proffessed an interest in fishing some local Yorkshire pools. Last week we disgussed which two float patterns would be best for his style of fishing. One Sunday evening after many post meal brandies we chame up with the following float pattern. The first pattern is a small bodied, antennae, waggler which will be used for his silver fishing at short to medium range at a depth of approximately 4.5 feet.   For the antenee pattern we decide on a balsa body, a hard wood stem, a brass eye, a fluorescent red/pink sight tip, and black and violet whippings.  My dad requested the floats body colour in "Hunter Green"...... I also had the same. 😊     This will be used a a general maggot, caster, punch and small pellet float by me and my dad when we eventually get out to fish together. Hopefully a few fish pictures will folow later on this month. The second pattern for margin fishing is still to be decided......it is a toss up

Bodied Wagglers Stained & Painted in Oak & Pale Grey

Hi all, Below are a set of seven "Bodied Wagglers Stained & Painted in Pale Grey" I have not made this pattern for quite s while and decided to my a new variant. This set takes approximately  3-4AAA comprising of black and grey threads and on orange fluorescent tip. Mainly used for tench & bream this float is equally at home targeting smaller species at distance due to the sensitive, slim tip. I always find this pattern a bit fiddly but the end results is usually worth a little frustration on my part. I will be making quite a few of these soon, also a mini version for fishing down the side. Stepped Boddied Wagglers In Pearlescent Burgundy

Image
Hi all, Sorry these are late Andy.  I had a small issue with the sun, heat and an idiot leaving them in a plastic bag in the car  (me) 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 The paints film had reconstituted, softened, therefore stuck to one another in the plastic bag. Pulling them apart resulted in the paint being ripped off at various locations. (should of got a picture of that but was more interested in getting them back to normal) With a little tinkering I was able to bring them back to their former glory. Two for Andy, two for me. Andys are the ones with a red band on the base stem. Materials were brass, walnut and balsa. Paints used were pearlescent burgundy, cream, fluorescent red, orange and  glow in the dark yellow. Threads used were black, scarlet and burgundy. Andy will be using his at his new local club lake. I will be using mine here for tench & bream and general coarse species in the deeper parts of this small lake. Good for a first attempt but a few little improvements will happen with the
