Purplepeanut007 PP007 FLOAT MAKING & FISHING ADVENTURES - THE RIVER IRWELL AND BEYOND.

Ready to go. . . . . . . .  This quartet of  " Large Glow In The Dark Carp Stalkers " are again made of reed. (one of my fav.materials at the moment) All floats are finished in black, gold, turquoise and violet thread. These four floats take approximately 3AAA and are an ideal for slightly larger baits such as small pellet and bread fishing, also, if you are a river angler like myself they are ideal for short to medium distance river work on slow to medium paced rivers with a variety of baits. Great for the witching hour when the light is fading and you want that extra time fishing into the darkness. I have had another crack at this pattern using a few different threads. Black ,gold,violet and a new addition to my thread box. . . . . " Metallic grey " 😁 I have another half a dozen of these on the go with slightly different thread colours which should be ready at the beginning if the new year. I was not to sure how the metallic grey thread would work out but it looks good to me.... What do you think ? I am in need of a few Medium Slim Inserted Wagglers for a few Ribble, Mersey and Weaver runs I know so decided to make a few using  Sarkanda Reed. The quartet below take approximately 3AAA in weight and will hopefully put a few roach, the target species, in my keep net. 😁 I used a different thread pattern in the centre of the floats to shake things up a little. I hope you like it. The thread colours used were black, gold and violet. Here is a quick preview of my next float tube to. 😉 I am becoming a big fan of " Sarkanda Reed " and will be making a few more using some different coloured threads just to see if I like it. I have never worked with  " Norfolk Reed " before. So when I was very kindly offered some from a fellow float maker I was quite eager to have a play. I did, indeed, have a play but unfortunately the float has been left un-fishished for quite a few months. In the last few weeks I have re-visited this little project and finished of the job. It was a pretty straight forward build for me to be honest. I decided to load the this float to aid with balance while casting . It will be fished mid river  in deep water on three wide stretches of the River Ribble, Weaver and the Mersey, may be even the Trent if I get my act together ay Jordan ! 😉 I made the tip extra long so the float can be under shotted, the extra tip length above the water will also help dislodge the hook bait from small snags as it travels down stream along the river bed. Here are five, six inch, Feather Inlay, Inserted Wagglers  I have recently completed boasting five different types of feather. I used one of these last week on the river. The float performed better than the angler . . . . . .
