My next float has been made for a very specific swim on a north west river. It is a . . . .   Double Feather Inlay, Internal Slider finished in Metallic, Pearlescent Racing Green With Gold, Imperial Purple and Black Whippings. This float takes approximately  7 swan / 11.2 g and is intended as a big fish float ie barbel, chub, salmon etc. but I have a feeling it will be use to catch some else very large........ As promised, this is the big brother version of the  17g Reversible Pike Pencil I made a couple of weeks ago. The floats are approximately 22cms long with  Glow In The Dark Yellow tips  and  Day Glow Fluorescent Orange Tips. They also have a hollow center to allow the floats to be used as sliders, therefore, fishable at any depth. Great for any deep, fresh water pedator fishing. Here are five, six inch, Feather Inlay, Inserted Wagglers  I have recently completed boasting five different types of feather. I used one of these last week on the river. The float performed better than the angler . . . . . . A first for me. 😁 Below is my first Inline Perch Bobber. It also has glow in the dark paint and a double feather inlay. It is the same size as my standard bobbers which are  3 - 6 AAA  depending on how you would like it shotted. One is a river which I have just blogged about. Two are reservoirs and the final water is a club lake holding a good head of eels 😊 I would love to catch a big eel, on purpose, on the float. I have had eels to 4 1/2 lbs ledgering but were accidental captures. I would like to purposely target them and catch a 3 lb plus fish for starters. On the other waters I will be after perch . . . . . May be roach to !!!!!!!! They are virgin waters to me so I am not really sure to be honest . 😁 Here are the rest of the pictur

Well . . . Today myself and " The Casterman " hit the river together for a long overdue roach session on the waggler which is l method we both have a lot to learn !!!!! ( An old pic. ) I had a slightly new waggler model I wanted to try and Casterman was itching for a good bag of roach.  ( his favourite fish ) We arrived at the river at 7.30. The first thing I did was mix the ground bait, bread crumb, PV1, corn, hemp and a little sprinkling of something special and we were ready to rock and roll. We had four orange sized balls of ground bait each to start with . All these went in about four rod lengths out. I had a 3AAA waggler to try initially. Most of the shot around the base of the float then 3 no 6's three quarters of the way down, then 2 no6's, 2 no 8's and one no 8, followed by the hook which was a size 18s Matrix silver fish Pole hook. Light hartedly  . . . . . . . I have been accused of neglecting my pike angling friends in regards to float making. There are a few anglers I know who fish a local reservoirs for pike and perch,  so,  in response to their requests I have made my first . . . . . . .  Reversible, Glow In The Dark, Feather Inlay, Sliding Pike Pencil. Any colour combination can be used. I personally think a glow in the dark yellow and a simple black will cover 95% of conditions. This one is only a baby at around 17 grams but there are two more bigger ones that are around 30g each under construction. They are a simple shape to form using the lathe but I really enjoyed making these. Here is the finally picture.
