Roach Fishing Peanut Vs The Casterman - A Silver Doller Race !!!!!!!

Image
Well . . . Today myself and " The Casterman " hit the river together for a long overdue roach session on the waggler which is l method we both have a lot to learn !!!!! ( An old pic. ) I had a slightly new waggler model I wanted to try and Casterman was itching for a good bag of roach.  ( his favourite fish ) We arrived at the river at 7.30. The first thing I did was mix the ground bait, bread crumb, PV1, corn, hemp and a little sprinkling of something special and we were ready to rock and roll. We had four orange sized balls of ground bait each to start with . All these went in about four rod lengths out. I had a 3AAA waggler to try initially. Most of the shot around the base of the float then 3 no 6's three quarters of the way down, then 2 no6's, 2 no 8's and one no 8, followed by the hook which was a size 18s Matrix silver fish Pole hook. These hooks are brilliant for small fish. ( Inserted Feather Inlay Waggler ) I fou...

A Reversible, Glow In The Dark, Feather Inlay, Sliding Pike Pencil.

Light hartedly  . . . . . . . I have been accused of neglecting my pike angling friends in regards to float making. There are a few anglers I know who fish a local reservoirs for pike and perch,  so,  in response to their requests I have made my first . . . . . . .  Reversible, Glow In The Dark, Feather Inlay, Sliding Pike Pencil. Any colour combination can be used. I personally think a glow in the dark yellow and a simple black will cover 95% of conditions. This one is only a baby at around 17 grams but there are two more bigger ones that are around 30g each under construction. They are a simple shape to form using the lathe but I really enjoyed making these. Here is the finally picture. The glow in th dark shot. 😉 I hope you like it as much as I enjoyed making it. 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁 TTFN Peanut If you would like to look at my handcrafted floats just hit the link. http://purplepeanut007.blogspot.co.uk...

Slim, Feather Inlay, Inserted Wagglers

Below are a set of five Feather Inlay Inserted Wagglers. All of the floats have different feather inlays for a little bit of variation. Great for lakes, ponds and medium to slow flowing rivers using smaller baits like maggots casters and small pellets. I hope you like them . 😉       Until the next time. 😊 TTFN Peanut If you would like to look at my handcrafted floats just hit the link. http://purplepeanut007.blogspot.co.uk/2017/01/handcrafted-floats-2017.html?m=1 Join our club Its free !!!!!! http://salfordfriendlyanglers.co.uk/join/

Here are a pair of  . . . . . . Glow In The Dark,  Inserted Wagglers With Pearlescent Gold Jay Feather Inlays. The larger of the two takes about 6 BB and the smaller around 4 BB. I made these a while ago but never finished them off !!!! All they needed was a little whipping and lacquering.  😊 These are for the Irwell Bridge Peg  for fish close on the drop Derek Keyon. 😊 Until the next time.

Jungle Warfare - River Yarrow Part Three

Image
I had made plans over a week ago to have a silver session this Sunday on either the River Mersey or the Ribble. I got a pass for the day and night off the Mrs and was really looking forward to it. Just before I finished work on Friday afternoon I was approached by one of the managers. He asked me if I could could help them out and work on Saturday afternoon as well as the morning . . . . . . AND ALL MY ANGLING PLANS WENT OUT OF THE WINDOW THERE AND THEN !!!!!!!!!! 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 I agreed to work and let a few people know I had to change my plans. 😔. On Saturday afternoon the phone buzzed. It was John Derbyshire " The Ginger Assassin " " What you up to Peanut " " Nowt. At work till four " I replied with a glum tone in my voice. I'm sure he could feel my pain !!!!!!! " Do you fancy a few hours exploring the Yarrow. There is a new stretch I wont to explore. I'm free from three o'clock till late" " John ...
