 Hi all, After a fishing free month for me (to much going on at home and work) I finally manage to get out this weekend with Adam Mack. We fished a new stretch of river to Adam and a totally new river for me. Both fishing Irwel Sticks (Adams standard & mine a loaded stick) our targets for the day where roach and chub. I have not seen Adam for ages so we had plenty of catching up to do. I love exploring new stretches of river and this session didn't dissapoint me. Fighting our way through ivy and dense nettle beds we found a lovely glide with a little more depth than the rest of the small stretch we had found. I stayed on the run introducing free offerings of liquidised bread and maggots while Adam nipped back to the car for the gear......  Hi all, I haven't made any pike floats in a very long time. So was pleased when I was asked to create a new slider based on a float I set asided many years ago. The original float the slider is based on is a double ended, reversible pike pencil with brass eyes which I have just completed. The new pike slider float is a straight through float designed to be fished flat, at depth and made from balsa. These floats are also reversible so each colour give the user options in different light conditions. The slider floats are still under construction but I have just completed the original double ended, eyed pencil style float and is pictured below. Paints used are glow in the dark yellow and fluorescent pink plus a brass eye. Only black thread was used in the construction of this version. It was high time my dad and I had a fishing session together so after work we popped down to my local commercial carp fishery in Yorkshire. I recently purchased a new rod for  "Salford Pete" I opted for a 13ft Korum Glide, ideal for my dads style of fishing and quite robust incase if any accidental knocks. So, with his new bit if kit my old man was itching to wet a line. I helped set him up  ( Purely for speed as it was 17.00 when we arrived ) on his Bodied Antenea Waggler which I made for him which he loves for maggot fishing. I lumped in three jaffers of my special commie ground bait mix so dad could just flick maggots in over the top and catch anything that came around. Due to the short time we had (3 hrs) I decided to cocentrate on one line down the left hand side.  My attack was three Jaffers of special commie mix, half a pint of hemp plus a few grains of corn. I also had some paste mix I made up in case they were a little hesitant taking corn. Before I could wet a line

 Morning all, I have managed to finish these wagglers this morning. The lollipop style float is mine for a local lake I fish for tench and mixed species, the other eight floats are for someone else. Once more balsa and hardwood make up the body of the floats. Eyes have been excluded from this build as rubber float connectors will be used. Stained, painted in slate grey with black and gold whippings these floats are now my go to still water float when fishing depths of less than six feet, a very sensitive float, great when maggot, caster or punch fishing. My self and "Salford Pete" should be having a social session on a local commie next week so I should get a few fish and float pictures fir a blog.
