Purplepeanut007 PP007 FLOAT MAKING & FISHING ADVENTURES - THE RIVER IRWELL AND BEYOND.

It has been decades since I have been on a proper perch hunt and since I have been making a lot of bobbers lately I thought I would have a bash once more. 😊 I have also been concentrating on the simple things with regards to my float making such as tidying up my lines. There is always room for improvement and that has been my mission for some time now. The float below made me smile whilst making it. Everything went to plan for a change. No sidewinders or surprises. It went like clock work from start to finish. Wish they could all be like that. . . . Lol 🤣 " It is just another of your large bobbers " . . . . I here you say........which is true but it is probably the sharpest and neatest bobber I have made. Hopefully you will see what I mean when you observe the close up photographs. This will be the live bait float on the perch hunt. Luckily a friend of mine Neil Johnson has offered to take me out perching when I am fit and well again

With my latest quartet of  " Baby Bobbers " I have tried to tone these down a little and make them a little more traditional.  I started well keeping to my ivory colour combination but fell down at the base stem whipping stage and just had to add a little bling . . . . . Lol. The silver metallic thread is slightly more subtle than my standard gold thread and really goes with this set.  Finished in ivory, black, silver, violet and various fluorescent clour tips.😁 The bobbers take approximately 3AAA and can be used for perch, grayling and jack pike using maggots, casters, small worms and live fry etc. I am very happy with the way these have turned out even if I went off plan slightly . A sliding perch bobber. This one is finished in orange, has a jay feather inlay and a purple pearlescent finish and . . . . . Is for a very influencial person that has helped me get my fishing head back on in the last few years. A first for me. 😁 Below is my first Inline Perch Bobber. It also has glow in the dark paint and a double feather inlay. It is the same size as my standard bobbers which are  3 - 6 AAA  depending on how you would like it shotted. One is a river which I have just blogged about. Two are reservoirs and the final water is a club lake holding a good head of eels 😊 I would love to catch a big eel, on purpose, on the float. I have had eels to 4 1/2 lbs ledgering but were accidental captures. I would like to purposely target them and catch a 3 lb plus fish for starters. On the other waters I will be after perch . . . . . May be roach to !!!!!!!! They are virgin waters to me so I am not really sure to be honest . 😁 Here are the rest of the pictur

Here we have a perch / grayling bobber in my own colours ( Purple, Pink & White ) I have changed just one thing with this float pattern as I like it mostly the way it was Can you see what has changed ????????
