Bodied Wagglers Stained & Painted in Oak & Pale Grey

 Hi all,

Below are a set of seven

"Bodied Wagglers Stained & Painted in Pale Grey"

I have not made this pattern for quite s while and decided to my a new variant.

This set takes approximately  3-4AAA comprising of black and grey threads and on orange fluorescent tip.






Mainly used for tench & bream this float is equally at home targeting smaller species at distance due to the sensitive, slim tip.

I always find this pattern a bit fiddly but the end results is usually worth a little frustration on my part.

I will be making quite a few of these soon, also a mini version for fishing down the side.

Mini Driftbeaters....The Christening

 Morning all , The day had come to christen our new prototype Mini Driftbeaters. With Salford Pete in tow we arrived at a local venue and set up ready for a days float fishing. I marched off in front to secure our pegs while Salford Pete seemed to take an age to arrive. He was talking and walking slowly to some other bloke I did not recognise. It was only when he got closer did I recognise my old mate  "The Castertman" He popped down to see another mate of his who was also fishing. We had a chat for five minutes then Casterman skipped off stating he would be back when we had both set up and started fishing. Ten minutes later me and the oldman were ready for the all in. I was fishing off the bottom initially to see if I could catch some of the good quality silvers which were present in the lake. Lathe Made Pike Bobber - First Effort. . . .😊

This is the first float to come off my new mini lathe. Its an old style " Pike Bobber Float " for live and dead baiting. It is a steep learning curve but, at last, I feel I have something to show all of you. 😊 Cork bodied (turned by myself ) with a birch stem. Jay feather inlay with two  satelliting jungle cock feathers. Fluorescent pink paint and a brass eye. This is how it looked fresh off the lathe . . . . As I said its a steep learning curve for me: 1) Using a lathe.  2) Working with cork. Both had their challenges but a feel I have come out of the other side with a pretty good effort. With a little more practise I feel I can get this pattern looking a much better. This is how it looks now. What do you think ? 😊 Any constructive criticism is always welcome.
