New In-Line Sliding Pike Bobber

Image
I don't make many cork pike floats and fancied trying a blend of styles mixing new with old so, with that in mined I have made my first attempt at a new pattern. 😊 Below is a  . . . .  Cork Boddied In-Line Pike Bobber. It has a hollow carbon shaft for the line to slide through enabling the angler to fish at any depth. ( If anyone can think of a natural hollow tube to use plesse let me know ) I have also added a large sight bob, hopefully it can the be used for both pike and perch when  live bait fishing. Cock the float to the largest dome for pike fishing with larger live baits and to the sight bob for smaller live baits for perch and jack pike. It has to be tested yet but I do not see why it can not be used for both styles. Finished in fluorescrnt red / pink , black, gold and violet whippings plus a nice feather for further decoration. I rather like this design myself. I just need some nice fish and float picures now to go on the fish and

Ivory Baby Bobbers

Image
With my latest quartet of  " Baby Bobbers " I have tried to tone these down a little and make them a little more traditional.  I started well keeping to my ivory colour combination but fell down at the base stem whipping stage and just had to add a little bling . . . . . Lol. The silver metallic thread is slightly more subtle than my standard gold thread and really goes with this set.  Finished in ivory, black, silver, violet and various fluorescent clour tips.😁 The bobbers take approximately 3AAA and can be used for perch, grayling and jack pike using maggots, casters, small worms and live fry etc. I am very happy with the way these have turned out even if I went off plan slightly . Lol. 🤣 Until the next time. TTFN Peanut. Sliding Perch Bobber

Image
A sliding perch bobber. This one is finished in orange, has a jay feather inlay and a purple pearlescent finish and . . . . . Is for a very influencial person that has helped me get my fishing head back on in the last few years. Enjoy my friend. 😉 This one will see a lot of actiin on the Rochdale Canal I think. 😉   Here are the three I have been working on lately. Until the next time. TTFN Peanut. Baby Chubbers

Image
The first chubber I made was a bit of a beast taking 7 swan shot  . . . . . . http://purplepeanut007.blogspot.co.uk/2017/12/new-chubber-float-in-metallic.html?m=1 so I thought I would make a couple of pairs for general and light fishing. Below is the smallest of the new chubbers. This pair does not have any coloured paint on the body apart from the white and Pink / yellow fluorescent on the tips.  All the rest of the floats colour is produced by thread which are . . . Black Gold Violet & Blue. These are without doubt the hardest floats I have ever made and took ALL my patience to complete them. It is not so much the difficulty but the size of this build that gave me multiple issues. I have very small hands and fingers and still struggled.  I have added a 5 pence piece to the picture to give you some kind of scale regarding the size of the floats. These will be useful bit if kit on a lot of rivers I fish and also for up in the water fishing for carp,

This one is for the lower Ribble and he has promised me an nice fish and float picture with a plump river perch . . . . . . No pressure there then.pal.  😂😂😂😂😂 Until the next time. TTFN Peanut. New Chubber Float In Metallic Pearlescent Blue.

Image
I have been meaning to up date my chubber floats for quite some time now.  My first pattern was a more traditional looking float made from natural sourced materials and hand carved. My new effort is made from balsa, birch and is hand turned on my lathe.  ( A tool I am still very much a beginner on ). Finished in metallic pearlescent blue, a white shoulder and a fluorescent red/ pink tip. The whippings on this particular float are gold, black, blue and violet. A shoulder has been incorporated into thus pattern to give it a little more sensitivity as well as looking aesthetically pleasing.  Taking approximately 7 SSG ( 11.2 g ) and is 145mm by 16mm at its widest point. This float is at home on the faster shallow runs of the Rivers Irwell and Ribble fishing worm, bread, meat, pellet and paste. I am looking forward to producing a nice " Fish & Float " picture in the near future as I really like the look of the new pattern and  can see it having
